Understanding Unisphere support for VMware

Unisphere supports the discovery of vCenters or ESXi servers (using a read-only user) and integrates the information into Unisphere. VMware information is connected to its storage extents, and this information enables investigation of any storage-related issues.

Unisphere support for VMware provides the storage admin access to all the relevant storage-related objects to an ESXi server and also helps troubleshooting storage performance-related issues to the ESXi server.

You can, as a read-only user, discover at the vCenter level and discover an individual ESXi server. If a vCenter is discovered, all ESXi servers under that vCenter are discovered.

Once the user adds VMware information, all other users of Unisphere can access this information.

The minimum version number that vCenter supports is version 5.5.
